Reve Cycles is a small bicycle brand based in Stockholm Sweden. Our mission is to create quality bicycles made for everything you through at it. Our frames are made in with great attention for details and they are a blast to ride.
Hannes Cederqvist
Hannes is a huge bicycle-enthusiast that has has a love for all types of bikes. From BMX, fixies, dirt jumpers, MTB, gravel bikes, road bikes you name it. The only bicycle he hasn’t owned yet is a trials bike but he will probably get it at some point. Hannes has experience in retail production and is currently working as a web-developer.
Karl Bern
Kalle is even a bigger bicycle-nerd than Hannes and he does not only share the love for all types of bicycles, he has been working in the bicycle industry for 20 plus years. Kalle is also a co-author of a book about MTB-trails in the Stockholm area. He currently works as an editor at Happyride.se, the biggest online bicycle-forum in Sweden. This spring Kalle is finishing his studies in Industrial Design at Konstfack, University of Arts, Crafts & Design.
Reve and the forest
Our program is called trees for the planet and to compensate for our emissions we buy land that absorbs a lot of Co2 and optimize the forest to absorb more and to increase biodiversity. We commit to not harvest any trees that still grow or play a key role in biodiversity. Each of our frames produce 145 kilograms of Co2 in production (from mining to the paintshop) and between 20 and 30 kilograms in transportation. In one year this is absorbed by 400 square meters of fast growing forest. Every frame we sell will result in us investing in land where the carbon footprint from that frame will be absorbed. We will focus on land that otherwise would have been deforested. We love the vast woodlands where we ride to explore and to breathe the reinvigorating forest air. As often as possible we ride through the land och narrow lines of crushed mountain, the gravel roads we enjoy are old and usually cleared to service forestry companies.
Reve and the planet
We think a lot about our impact and we believe that designing bicycles that will last a long time is important. We also offer repair services for our own bicycles and other steel bicycles that you somehow managed to break. At the moment we produce our frames in Asia, we work with LCA-tools to calculate the total footprint of each frame and we compensate this with our own method that we think is as close to a true neutralization of Co2 emissions as anything can be.
Reve and repairs
A steel bicycle can be repaired, well that is also the case with a lot of carbon frames and also aluminium. But we work with steel and one of our services is to repair a cracked, crashed or in some other way broken steel frame. We will start any project with a discussion on how and why the frame was broken and how it should be fixed, we can change tubes or in some cases just add as little material as possible. We want your bike to keep on rolling forever, maybe adding rackmounts will change the purpose of a bike and give it a second life as a tourer or commuter, let us light our torch and burn some new life into your broken frame.
Reve as a service
Buying a brand new bike might not be the most sustainable option, how about renting one or maybe a subscription? We aim to introduce alternatives to owning and buying within a close future.
